One Million Files

About a week ago we passed the one million mark of files hosted on DropBoks. This is sort of a big milestone for us. You see, since our inception we have always sort of gone against the grain in comparison to other online storage services out there. We didn’t have a thousand and one features. We didn’t have hundreds of employees. We didn’t have aspirations of making millions of dollars overnight. The main thing we had really was a belief that there were other people out there who shared our idea that simple is better. Turns out that our belief was correct. As of now we have users in over 18,000 cities across the world in over 200 countries!

I have to take this time to thank all of our users, you guys have been simply awesome. Your feedback helps us to create the end product that you want. Not just what we think you want. Keep up the good work and always feel free to ping us if you want to give a suggestion.

Oh yeah, and thanks for being patient on the upcoming features (Sharing & Bulk Download). We have been very busy and should have them out soon.

Oh, and P. S. DropBoks is only the beginning. We have some more web applications in the works ;)

    Fabulous storage site… please please please keepit simple, and don’t fall into the trap of others that have become so complex with their filesharing and stuff as to be completely unusable! I’d be happy to pay a bit per month for my storage, if I know it will remain as simple and as reliable as it has been to date. The only thing I’d ask is for better support for us linux users… we don’t have the same bulk upload facility available for Windows! Keep up the good work guys… Mark from the UK

    Hi Luke,
    Truly, the simpler the better. I’m satisfied with the service. But I just want to make a suggestion, in downloading the files, or moving the files, it would be better if there’s an option to highlight multiple files like in uploading the files. just a suggestion. thanks… but all in all, good service specially for me who can’t afford of paying much for an online drive.

    I think this is the greatest site ever!!! I never need a flash-drive any longer as long as I have a internet connection. I have access to all my docs. Perfect for a student like myself. Simple and easy. Keep it up Dropboks team!!

    I always save my thesis and school work on dropboks, and feel quite safe here. Even though sometiems the program did not seem to run properly, you guys could just fix it overnight. Awesome! Thanks!!

    just logged in to the
    site after a long time.

    That itself i realised
    was a problem. You see
    these days, i simply
    save the files i need
    save on gmail.

    logging onto a site
    like dropboks and saving
    files seems like a bit
    of a bother especially
    when saving a draft or
    a file on an email
    account is so much
    easier not only to save
    but also to search.

    How do you expect to
    counter this.
    calls for some serious
    brainstorming to adapt
    to this trend. Great
    site nevertheless.
    actually came here to
    download some really old
    files after losing my
    old laptop.
    Dont know what I would
    have done if I hadn’t
    saved them here.

    Excellent tool. first used it as an IT Trainer to send and store large spreadsheet that where too big as an email attachment. Also was an cost effective way to access important file on the go, rather than using USB stick.

    Dropboks is great.It is easy to use and easy to access.I first used it as a student and have found that it is the best way to store information for people on the go.
